OFICINA DE PROYECTOS EUROPEOS DE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE VALLADOLID

Department / Institute / Centre

  • Name: UNIVERSIDAD DE VALLADOLID
  • Address:
  • Province: Valladolid

Research Area

  • Chemistry (CHE)

Brief description of the institution:

The OPEUVa supports the researchers of the Valladolid University in the preparation, presentation, negotiation, management and justification of European projects, accompanying them in the whole process, from the generation of the project idea up to the ending of the same one.

Brief description of the Centre/Research Group (including URL if applicable):

MIOMeT (Inorganic and Organometallic Molecules) Group (http://miomet.blogs.uva.es/) is a part of the CINQUIMA Institute. The general aim of the group is study of the synthesis, reactivity and the physical properties of coordination and organometallic compounds of main group metals and transition metals. The research is particularly oriented towards compounds of biological or nanotechnological interest.

The work to be carried out by the candidate will be focused on the preparation, characterization and study of properties of corannulene-based molecular entities capable of forming supramolecular adducts with carbon nanoallotropes in order to further explore the possibility to use the best composite as photoactive material in organic photovoltaic devices. Furthermore, the candidate will guide inexperienced graduate and undergraduate students working in the same research line and have the chance to attend all our scholar activities, including decision-making meetings, because we are always open to new ideas that could improve our scientific output and collaborative networks, both private and academic.

Project description:

The candidate will conduct their main activity at Laboratories C001 and C005 in the Science Building at Campus Miguel Delibes, which are well equipped for the project. They will be assigned an individual fume hood, an office and will have access to a large array of resources and facilities available on the campus, including MS, IR, UV ICP, HPLC, microscopic and NMR facilities and workstations for theoretical calculations.
